That is more of a Big sad thing than a little one.

Please talk to a therapist or a doctor, or the anti suicide helpline: 1-800-985-5990 in America, or 116 123 and 0800 838587 in the UK. You don't have to struggle alone.

I'm in the UK and already went through the hellish mental health service pre-covid and learnt my lesson not to go near those monsters again.

May I ask, what is the point of posting this type of stuff? Is it a cry for help? Is it just to upset other people? I'm always confused when people post like this.

Apparently to give someone like you something to snark at and feel superior about.

I'm no expert, but I assume they are venting, and not attention seeking or maliciously jerking with other people's emotions.

Sometimes people just need to say something, to someone, in an anonymous setting. It helps them. Please be nicer about this, as it costs you nothing.

On the other hand, sometimes people say these things in order to emotionally manipulate others and get off on it, which is not at all a nice thing to do.

... and since you don't know which is which, it's still a good idea to be kind. If you truly cannot bring yourself to behave with compassion towards another human being who is potentially suffering, then move on to the next thread without commenting. It really is that easy.

That is not what this person is doing.

DA

And if some person on FS did that... So what? What effect does that have on you that you can't spare the sympathy just in case it's genuine?

Or: Why is withholding sympathy just in case someone is trolling more important than being sympathetic just in case OP is genuine?

^ This. Unless of course, the anon in question has a very sparse and limited supply of empathy, which is looking quite likely.

Yep, this is 100% my experience.

People want their pain to be taken from them and hope that someone else can get rid of it.
Why do you assume life is good for everybody and that there's always a solution for everything?

Monsters? What did they do?
