You can make several choices that minorly impact who survives and shows up at the end, but saying that this affects what actually happens overall, or that this makes most of the rest of the game not exactly the same / repetitive, is just not correct. Especially with how boring combat in Bioware games is.
There's literal mods to skip the entire Fade section for a reason.
