Hmmm
I think as in real life, sometimes there are D/S-flavored dynamics purely out of societal conditioning/personal tastes that aren't directly influenced by BDSM.
I personally tend to back button if there were no tags for BDSM-ish dynamics (or it is without outright saying it is), but I don't read fic at such a rate that I feel a need to do something specific to avoid these poorly tagged fics
