I feel the same way. Honestly, I think this way about most of the gaming industry.

I would say wait until it's cheap and then get it. Make up/Finish the story in your head or something cause... Bioware as it was is not what it is and I don't think it will be going back to that.

But hey, you can still play and enjoy the old stuff, maybe you can enjoy a new series, and if you do end up liking the new game, great.

I just read that they are discontinuing the Keep and your choices from the other games dont matter now. I understand from a developer standpoint why they did that but it really killed a hefty chunk of my excitement and interest. So yeah, I feel you OP.

I never expected DA4 to actually come out so I already made my peace with DA3 being the last one.

That's a major reason why I don't care what they do in DA4, but it looks fun so I've preordered it. & its a bit to spite the anti-woke YouTube crowd who are insufferable about it. I hope dragon age wins goty again.

I kind of feel this. I REALLY wish the thinly-disguised BDSM came with tags or warnings. I don't usually like the dynamic, and really don't like dominant man/sub woman, but it doesn't seem that easy to avoid. Unfortunately I'm not into it in actual BDSM fics either, but I get finding it preferable.

I get wanting people to tag stuff properly. There are things I don't want to read and yet, event putting up a filter I still see them when I scroll through. It's not gonna make me read the fic. it just makes me bitter towards that author.

Wait, so you only read D/s fics despite not being particularly into it... because you prefer when it's done intentionally and properly tagged, than to running into it unexpectedly? If I'm understanding you right, I can see that. D/s dynamics coming out of nowhere are weird for me in fic, though I do enjoy them as a kink. I run into this with het ships suddenly treating D/s as the default approach and with some slash ships where a portion of the fandom is very into a strict top/bottom dynamic with D/s elements and rarely tags for that.

If the rules and boundaries are what makes something BDSM, then wouldn't tagging things that don't have any rules or boundaries as "BDSM" would also be wrong/inaccurate, according to you?

Like, if BDSM has rules and boundaries, then "disguised BDSM" would be "BDSM with rules and boundaries that is not marked that way," right?

But "power dynamics without rules and boundaries" (the thing you dislike) would be something else entirely, no?

Maybe "dubcon with some common kinks" or a "ravishment fantasy"?
