The little... uh... the fellow fan who couldn't be bothered with a "thank you" last time announced an interest in participating in the same fanwork gift exchange I plan to participate in this year.

If they do sign up, I guess I'll have to say something to not get stuck with them again. But I guess that might whittle the guesses down a bit and might not be fair. Agh, I hate feeling like I have to make a stink and potentially sour the event, or just bite my tongue and hope this idiot either stays away or ends up with someone else.

This is a solid reason why you should ask not to be matched with them. Goes double if it's the same exchange the next year. Go for it.

If this exchange has moderators, I'd mention this to them directly while requesting not to be paired with them. Maybe it's just me, but if I didn't already know this as a mod, knowing that someone was too busy to acknowledge receipt of their gift would be enough for me to say no thanks to their participation.

Yeah, I guess in a worst case scenario, they don't honor the request and maybe fellow fan fails to deliver and a backup steps in (if they're the gifter), or everyone else's appreciation makes me forget FF's lack of gratitude (if I'm the gifter).
