Same here. Over 30 and still prefer 'pretty' over really masculine, muscular types with facial hair.

Problem is, there don't seem to be a lot of older, or just not really young, men who have that look. Maybe people don't think it works on men when they get older?

I imagine it's ridiculously hard to maintain.

That's mostly due to the effects of aging. As people get older, they tend to grow more body hair, develop coarser skin and facial features, carry their weight differently (especially thickening waists), etc. All of which makes someone look less "pretty", though they may still be highly attractive in a less youthful-looking way.
