Aw I love this!
And I love how much of Gen X still plays or got back into gaming after their kids left home. I definitely think millennials and the generations after will be lifelong gamers <3

GenX was the first to even have video games, in our childhood when kids were still the only demographic (trust me, I lived it - my boomer parents were not who Pong was marketed to, let alone arcade consoles, Atari home systems, etc). The only reason anyone is surprised that we're still gaming in our 40s-50s is because somehow the media narrative was that like boomers, we would quit doing the things that made us happy when we "grew up." And, we collectively said, fuck you we do what we want. That is, when the media even remembers to check in on us between crying about millennials and avocado toast, lol.

Come join us in the old folks home, kids, we'll have Pac-man on the console and movie marathons with Labyrinth and Legend.

I’ve always said it was easy to see how Gen X would turn out. We were ignored unless we asked for something and often the answer was, “you buy/do it for yourself when you have your own money.” So we grew up, got our own money, and we’ve been going nuts ever since playing with all the toys we wanted when we were kids.

Love this, OP. So much of fandom is "old people are ick" or "kids are annoying" or whatever, so it's nice to see some love for multiple generations <3

My parents and siblings started playing video games when I did. We still play. My parents are almost 80.

I know it's just a pic but I just love the joy in that dude's face.

I don't see why it wouldn't. I'm mid 30s and everyone I play with is older.

Where do you find these people? A lot of gaming circles I've found skew too young, and I'm early 30s.

My dad still plays and he's nearly 80. My mum only ever played Snake and she was done but she was really good at it!

This makes me so happy, I absolutely love this.
