The ones who say that Kyubey would be "kind" enough to make a trans girl live as cis girl is enough proof that they haven't watch/read the anime/manga at all. Even saving your life makes your life (eh) miserable, imagine wishing that.

Well, it's either Kyubey is evil and manipulative and transphobic, or Kyubey is evil and manipulative but not transphobic.

Probably the first because Kyubey is evil and manipulative and lack of empathy because he doesn't understand, nor he wants to understand, how human feelings are. If he doesn't care that a girl died after she wished to not to die in a car accident (Mami), do you expect he would warn to that trans girl that wished to be a "real girl" that she could die in a hate crime or something? He just wash his hands and say "ok, next?".

The thing is that actually, yeah, that is how trans inclusive works and every trans person I've heard speak on the subject would agree. Not on Madoka in particular, but about getting the bad along with the good for their gender. Excluding trans girls from being magical girls would save them from that suffering, but it would also come with being told by an essentially higher being that knows humanity well, "you're not a real girl" and that's its own type of suffering.

For a real life example, trans men I've heard from honestly hate when women say they hate all men, all men are perverts, all men must die... oh but only cis men of course, not trans men. Trans men are like no, if you want all men to die then I want you to want me to die because I am part of "all men."

OP

My actual thoughts are that Kyubey likes having a handle on someone, something he can use to drive them to despair. Anti-trans bigotry seems like the kind of thing he’d take into consideration when picking his next mark.

I recently mused that, as a trans feminine person, getting catcalled on the street is a weird sort of mixed feelings.

On the one hand, ew.

On the other...el creepo read me as a woman. I PASSED.

On the third...I now feel unsafe for two different reasons.

This secret confuses me.
