If the Fundie Wiki (https://fundamentalists.fandom.com/wiki/Fundamentalists_Wiki) is any indication, these sorts are doing reasonably well on YouTube. So they might still be thriving.

There's also the fact that some ex-vangelicals keep track of notable people from their past religious affiliation, and awareness of these sorts ends up spreading that way. It's a bit Streisand Effect, but I get why they're willing to take that risk.

I still think People magazine feeding into it contributes to middle-aged brainrot, though.
