I respect that this was the beachhead upon which acceptance for (humanized) lgbt people in media landed, but I see where you're coming from, anon. That specific subset of representation is so normalized that at this point it might as well be Honorary Heterosexuality.

A year or two ago there was a secret about how with every show with queer rep, it meant a gay male couple who rarely did couple-y things onscreen and definitely was never shown having sex. Has the safe option changed for that many things this quickly?

Is the cartoon Wander Over Yonder too tween bland for you? Otherwise you're missing out on some stellar LGBT+ content.
None of the characters in this Disney series is straight up cisgender or heteronormative. It's truly a hysterical science fiction romcom for the ages!

You should check out the new show Brilliant Minds. The lead is gay and a genius doctor that solves medical mysteries, it's pretty similar to House except he's not a dick. There've only been 4 episodes so far but there's another male doctor I'm shipping him with and it seems fairly likely it will actually become canon!

It literally did not! It literally didn't. You can just move on. It's fine. It doesn't affect the future movies at all in any way, unless you specifically want it to do so. They can literally just make a new James Bond movie and not reference No Time To Die at all and it'll be fine.
