Spooky season reminded me of how I got through a movie I watched, probably too young, that scared the noodles out of me. It was Jeepers Creepers. What made my fear worse was living in the middle of a rural nowhere, where the monster gets you. My job as a child was to walk our dog at night before bed, and the way I felt safe enough to do that was justifying that the Creeper would never want me because I was too ugly to steal body parts from. Damn, low self esteem much?
