Friday secret (possible discussion of underage/rape/noncon/incest)

I find it frustrating as a fc writer how people will point to a content tag or even just the ao3 underage or noncon tag and make a presumption about the fic from it (ie: pointing to a fic tagged incest and telling everyone it's incest porn) because as a writer it makes me hesitant to use those tags. I want to properly tag my fic but I don't want someone to take one glance at the tag and presume the context of it's use.

I do make sure to tag fics well though sometimes instead of using the "underage" archive warning I'll mention if there's implied teenxteen relationships . If there's rape in someone's backstory I'll used an 'implied/discussed rape" tag. I try to be specific in my tagging. But I'd prefer tags to using the archive warnings.

I wish people who said these things knew that by stigmatizing the use of certain archive tags or content tags, and spreading mis-info about the fic/author causes more harm than help.
