I finally put my finger on what bothers me the most about Beat Bobby Flay. It's like a pro-wrestling, except the kayfabe is embarrassingly bad. When the challenge is Beef Wellington and the judges get one very well executed Beef Wellington and one "deconstructed" Beef Wellington that's actually a hangar steak with Fresno chile chimichurri on a bed of crispy rice and a side of drop biscuits with spiced butter, your "blind taste test" is a flat joke. And when Bobby inevitably wins for being "so innovative" and he's all "Yay, I did it!" it's just kind of sad.

I find Bobby Flay to be a huge narcissist and easily my least favourite tv chef
