They've proven remarkably dense in the past when they've been told that the problem is them. They keep thinking it is some other guy being talked about.

I think this needs to be made into a meme and passed around all social media platforms (perhaps with tweaks to the "secrets" part). I see an astounding amount of this behavior all over the internet and find it at best irritating and at worst a sign people are not actually thinking for themselves when determining how to respond to various conflicts in all spheres.
