I have no particular problem with brutalism but no particular affection for it either, and I really don't get the cult that it has.

Like any other style, it can look really good if done well! But like... people just go SO wild about it. I guess you could say the same thing about mid century modern though.

At least for me I grew up going to a lot of places with Brutalist architecture. These buildings had unique sublevels and shapes that stood out in the flatness that is Florida, and there was enough space to play without getting in someone's way. They also had cool fountains I enjoyed looking at. Brutalism makes up a good chunk of my happy childhood memories, and I've gotten that impression from others who love the style.
