The only space I was ever able to make legit online friends was LJ. Oh, and a couple of specific old private forums. I just can't seem to connect in this wider world that fandom and online interaction has become.

They're definitely going to be back at some point because The Master is one of the handful of enemies that nobody can resist leaving alone for too long. I'm just a bit torn on the question of a new actor. Unlike what felt like most of the fandom, I quite liked the reveal for Sacha's Master but every appearance after that was just increasing levels of disappointment for me.

I made most of my online friends who became irl friends on a band forum, but we chatted on MSN and added each other to LJ and stuff so they basically hung out in multiple spaces where I could connect with them. We then arranged meet ups etc.

I'd find that so difficult now because, for me anyway, social media is so fractured and I know some people have meet up with fandom friends via Twitter but I've actually always kinda hated the way you interact with fandom on there so don't really talk to other people.

Idk, there's also the fact I'm older and busier and MSN is dead now so I don't have the energy or method to stay up until 4am talking crap with people half way around the world anymore.

I've got a few regular folk who interact with me on tumblr but that's about it.

Personally I do 110% want the Master back asap but I hope it's Sacha Dhawan again and not a new version! Much as I'm sure a new Master would also be great, I just really want to see his Master and Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor interact. I don't think we need to replace the Master with every new Doctor, Anthony Ainley was around for like four different Doctors.

Pieces like this annoy me because they always omit anything negative about the poor woobie feelings-haver's actions.

Of course everyone else will seem heartless if you portray the entire world as wholly unreasonable people that are mad about 'someone having lots of feelings' instead of all the significantly missing actions the main character took and demands they made and things they imposed on others about those feelings, because it's always assumed 'felt too much = could not help but act'.

And that's just not true.
