Here's mine - people who back into their parking spaces are selfish/inconsiderate.

Eh, I could see this if they're the type of person who barrels through the parking lot and doesn't give a shit about pedestrians or whichever other vehicles are passing through the area. And then they just do whatever the hell they like without pausing or considering anyone else, not giving a clue to anybody nearby that they are backing into the parking space.

Oh god my friend and I are irrationally annoyed by people who back into parking spaces. They seem to be everwhere in this town and they are all so bad at it that it takes forever.

If you can't write or read cursive I think you are a little bit dumb. Watching people "sign" legal documents by printing their name just brings out the judgmental bit of me.

It's a dumb opinion because if you can't read or write it, that generally means you were never taught it and I shouldn't think people are dumb just for not being taught something. But the thread is about nonsense opinions so there you have it.

Like, the vibes between backing in and finding a pull-through are very different...

ONCE went to a place where the parking was back-in only, like there were signs and everything, and that was a STRESSFUL experience.

Mine is that there are only 2 aesthetically correct times of day: 34 mins past noon, and quarter past 3 in the afternoon.

Oh, that entirely depends on the parking space. If you have to pull out into the road, then backing in is entirely preferable to the people who back out into traffic.

(Full disclosure: I live in New England, where fully half the parking spots are designed by misanthropic sadists.)

I hate when people post incomplete works and author notes about "not sure where this is going, but we'll see!" and think that means it is still in the drafts stage and shouldn't be posted at all.

I hate robins (the birds). I have no specific reason for it except that they're not sparrows, which are clearly superior. It's illogical, I know, and I have no idea where it came from, but still...robins suck.

So I've seen a movie where adopted siblings get married, and I'm curious if that's something that could actually happen in real life? I know I could google it but it's not exactly something I want in my search history!

If so, how would it work? If they go to the clerk's office to get a marriage license, are they going to refuse to give them one because they have the same last name? (And for that matter, do completely unrelated people who happen to have the same last name have trouble getting a marriage license?) Do they have to get a DNA test to prove they're not biologically related? Or what if they have different last names, is that enough to be able to get a license without issue? Is it going to flag some database somewhere that they're legally related even with different last names?

(I've ended up in a fandom where I'm shipping adopted siblings and thinking of writing fic, so I'm curious how this would work.)

Vent thread

I'm so sick of the ship wars in my main fandom. The fans of the less popular rival ship to the juggernaut (which I ship) are just such assholes. I won't deny that there are some assholes on "my side" too, but the other group are just such dicks, several of them are blatantly homophobic, and I suspect there's some racism, too. Usually I don't like to block people, but I'm at the point now where I'm starting to just block them as soon as they start their crap and move on...I'm so sick of them.

Anyone else want to vent about anything?
