Related to the other thread - is there an old trope or trend you wish would come back? Or one in your head that has never taken off but wish it would?

I'd adore more marriage law fic. I love marriage law as a trope.

What exactly does this mean?

which, you know, IRL is horrifying and awful and I'm totally against it. but in fiction I'm sure down for Studly-And-Noble Character A being forcibly paired by the government with Loathed-But-Sexy Character B to figure out how the fuck to have a relationship.

Innnnnteresting. I am not sire I have ever actually seen that trope! I could def see the appeal.

I remember seeing it in Harry Potter fandom back in the day.

Sugar Daddy fics. It is popular in some fandoms, but not the ones I want. :(

Time Loop for horror purposes and not comedic.

ETA: OT3 fics where one of the characters is feeling left out and that they are not as needed in the relationship so they try to step back from the OT3 but then is comforted by their partners.

Switched-up dynamics where the shorter/smaller/lower ranked character is the dominant one and the large/tall/boss character is submissive.

Also switched-up dynamics where the sub is the one with all the experience and the dom has little.

Also het where the woman has a ton of experience and the man is a virgin.

Hurt/comfort where it is the more dominant character who is hurt and being comforted.

I actually read one fic where the tags were this but then they random changed their sizes in the fic! Like, suddenly the short person grew five inches and the big tall beefcake was magically a willowy shortie. So annoying.

Well, that's annoying. It happens occasionally in my fandom, but not as much as I'd like.

I wish there was more actual age play, not just age regression. There was a very small window where age play had a bit of a bump, but then it turned into Bigs/Littles AU stuff and I'm not really into that.

I wish regular BDSM was more popular. All I tend to see is the genetically assigned dom/sub stuff and I like my kink served with freedom of choice.

Idk if this even counts as a trope or if it's just a fetish, either way I'm gonna speak my truth. I wanna see more muscle worship in my fandoms. Thanks for reading
