There's something wrong with people who actually want to get pregnant.

Do you just have a pregnancy phobia?

I mean, like, yeah. But idk, to me that just seems like obviously the only reasonable reaction. It feels like uhh, the xenomorph thing except if the incubation lasted for nine whole months, didn't necessarily kill you at the end, and had even more sexually violating vibes. On an emotional level, I just can't even begin to wrap my brain around the idea of NOT finding that deeply horrific.

I DO wish I could have more empathy for people who are like, upset about being infertile or whatever, but my internal reaction is still always "what the fuck, you got lucky, stop complaining". (Want to clarify, I'm well adjusted about this irl, I got a hysto so it's not a personal issue anymore and I promise I'm not a dick to people who choose/want to be pregnant. It's just that it's the most viscerally unrelatable thing I can imagine and I can't help feeling like, that's just fucked up.)

Yeah. I am also just can't put myself in someone's shoes when they are grieving for being infertile.
CW: miscarriages and trauma ahead.
I remembered one story where woman had two ectopic pregnancies in like couple of months. And couldn't have children no more. She had really bad reaction to seeing children and pregnant women. And everyone was so sad for her, that she can't have children poor girlie. I was mostly horrified that she and her husband had sex while she absolutely wasn't healed.

I think people finding pregnancy scary or gross is pretty normal. I think people extending those feelings to everyone and judging them for wanting to be pregnant is pretty messed up.

What do you mean?

I completely agree with you. The idea of it is horrifying to me.

I'd had a longer comment typed out but it got really dark, so I'll just say...yeah. I totally agree.

Agreed. I have plenty of friends who wanted to have kids but they all viewed the pregnancy part as a sort of necessary evil in order to get the kids. I don't know anyone who actually WANTED to be pregnant.

I think that's the default. When someone talks about "wanting to be pregnant" I assume that's what they mean, not that the pregnancy itself will be an awesome experience. It's shorter than "I want to have a kid and pregnancy is my only option, so if I can't get pregnant I'll be really sad."

I would hope that's the norm. Then there's my weirdo mother, who claims she "loved" being pregnant and said she would've done it a dozen more times if she'd been able to (she had complications with my younger brother and wasn't able to have any more kids after that).
