I hate robins (the birds). I have no specific reason for it except that they're not sparrows, which are clearly superior. It's illogical, I know, and I have no idea where it came from, but still...robins suck.

native sparrows or european house sparrows, which are invasive? because fuck those invasive fuckers. robins may be boring and ubiquitous but at least they're native and not crowding endangered native sparrows out of their habitats.

song sparrows are lovely but give me a grosbeak or a waxwing any day. even a cardinal, as common as they also are.

native sparrows or european house sparrows

I don't think European since I'm in the US but I'm not sure what type they are. I just like them...they hop around and they seem happy. Robins always seem angry to me and I feel like some of them give me evil looks sometimes. (Yes, I realize this makes me sound like a complete lunatic!)

Cardinals are cool, too, they're actually pretty rare where I am.

Yes, in the US there is a type of sparrow that was brought over from Europe - hence the invasiveness. They tend to gather in large chirpy flocks in shrubs and arbor vitae, the males have black beards, white cheeks, and chestnut on the back of the head. They are suuuuuuuuper common, and aggressively protect their feeding and nesting territory to the point of chasing and attacking other birds.

It's really sad because our native sparrows, whether marsh-dwelling or prairie-native, are all endangered now aside from song sparrows. They're not visually striking but they're important to the ecosystem. European House Sparrows don't fill the niche left by native species, they don't control locust populations or feed on berries to help spread plants.

American robins are shitty birds, but European Robins fucking rock!

I like the birds, but I think robin is an ugly word and an ugly name for any gender. I've never had a bad experience with anyone named Robin, I've known several and they were all pretty cool, so I really have no idea why I hate it so much.
