YEAH and people get SO weird about it? Like, it's basically parsley that tastes like soap to a certain percentage of people and yet if you say you don't like it, people will jump down your throat to tell you why you're wrong??

Just a stab in the dark here, but I'm guessing it's the comparison of their favorite food to soap.

But why get huffy about it when it, due to literal genetics, does taste like soap to some people? They can accept that fact and move on.

If people insisted that my favorite food randomly tasted like rubber bands I'd be like damn sucks for you guys, too bad. Not "you're wrong about how you perceive things, how dare you?"

Well, it's possible not everyone knows about the genetics thing.

It's also possible people respond to news differently depending on how its delivered.

And if you're sure that's not the case, then I guess they're just easily butthurt, idk.

it's been a while since I had anyone get weird on me about it but when they did, it was because I said I disliked it as the "green" on a sandwich (no it was not a banh mi either). I like cilantro in its place, I cook with it in carnitas and make homemade pico, but as a sandwich green the flavor is overwhelmingly overpowering. apparently that made me an uncultured swine.

People who comment on other people food's tastes or complain about "picky eaters" or whatever are a huge red flag for me. Do they think it's fun not to be able to eat some stuff because it tastes disgusting to you?
