I'm ace as well and go through phases where I read ALL THE SMUT for whatever character or pairing I'm into. I just find it really emotionally satisfying. Idk I've tried reading erotica or orginal smut but it does nothing for me but bore me or make me cringe, but fandom smut is where it is at.

Yeah, emotional satisfaction is where it's at for me as well. That's why I'm also very picky when it comes to porn - if it doesn't hit that emotional note I don't care and just skip. Which is why I generally prefer smut written by women rather than men, or more specifically, smut written FOR women. It's far more likely to hit that emotional high.
