Hiya!

Yeah. I think the movie is that it basically boils down the entire plot into a singular film and just managed to tell it better (also, I like that they immediately revealed their secret identity at the end.) It's also much more grounded. One of my problems with Ladybug the show is that it feels like watching it after it ate a galleon of sugar (again, it's for kids, I get it), but the movie is a lot more calm.

Also, the movie has Adrien sad and pining while listening to "Careless Whisper" and that genuinely was a funny ass scene.

Yeah. to be honest I kinda...feel like making the show one movie sort of fixes the issues I had trying to watch the show. One thing that really drove me nuts was the sheer amount of Status Quo is God , always reverting things when it seemed like something would change. I kinda feel like I was spoiled by the first two seasons of Danny Phantom because there things changed steadily , Not perfect but... not so much reverting back to status quo to make me wanna rip my hair out. Ron had been tryina get me to watch forever so we could rp the characters.

and now at least I have a working understanding of some of the characters and I LOVE it.

Turns out I just like a show plotline that isn't afraid to change up the status quo a bit and doesn't undo every little change dragging things on for SEASONS and SEASONS. ahah.

Lots of shows have that kind of structure and I guess your mileage will vary if people are into it or not (for me, it depends). I think it's really the only way they can justify Ladybug's power of creation, otherwise you're stuck with a character who has an insanely powerful ability that can literally restore anything and anyone back to normal with zero consequences. I guess it would check out that 90% of the entire show HAS to stick with a status quo at the end just for that.

Oh huh truuuuue i guess I suppose i can tolerate a bit of adherence to the status quo if it means avoiding a godmod main character

(I also really got into Owl House as well btw and that show as just...amazing Luz as a character , i swear healed something in me . i felt so seen like she was ME IDK if that show's your thing but I also like it. Very different vibes)

I liked The Owl House well enough and thought it deserved a proper finale than what Disney did to it (though I'm glad the creator did the best she could to finish it), but I think I respect it more for its quality than really loving it.

I ended up liking its contemporary, Amphibia more.

OOoh . I keep meaning to watch Amphibia.. I kinda got into TOH mostly because Ron told me about it and .. well in our relationship we tend to trade off reccing stuff to each other. I got them into a few things.. the Erased manga, D+ Percy Jackson series and Hazbin lol."
