For Americans Doing Mail-in Ballots

FYI, the Fifth Circuit court just decided that mail-in ballots that are mailed before election day but not actually received until after are no longer valid (they were previously valid in 18 states).

So just FYI, get your ballots mailed as soon as possible to make sure they are recieved by November 5.

Imo they shouldn't be able to decide that so close to an election. It should go into effect for next years election. So annoying.

Of course they shouldn't. But it is the Fifth Circuit, the most conservative of the circuit courts. It is filled with Trump judges.

Not really surprising though. The whiny childish cheaters who still whine about how the 2020 election was stolen, all while gerrymandering their own districts and engaging in other voter suppression tactics, are gonna cheat.

That’s depressing af. But not surprising. I still remember all the absentee ballots from the 2000 election. I’m happy that in person early voting is broadening every cycle. It cuts down on absentee ballots so those that really need them have a better chance of getting theirs issued and returned.
