I can't get over my nostalgia with the Bond films because it's one of many things where I'd watch them with my dad (usually on a weekend afternoon, though obviously the Dalton films didn't feature there.) I know they're not great when it comes to certain themes but yeah... action films (along with science fiction/fantasy films and various sports) are how I spent time away from my mum and sister with my dad.

I wasn't keen on the books though when I finally attempted those.

Oh yeah, there's stuff in the books that aged like milk (the Amos 'n' Andy-sounding dialogue for most of the black characters in Live and Let Die comes to mind). Not that the movies don't have their share of badly-aging bits as well but most of them aren't as bad as the novels.
