I think it is generally weird when people incorporate any real life actor stuff into fandom. For me they are two totally separate things and never the twain shall meet.

On the other hand, I can see how if you make a certain association with a face and you are a visual person then that association could be hard to shake. I guess that's one of the perks of having no visualization, I don't have to worry about associations like that.

Either way, no you are not a monster.

You're writing fic about a fictional character, not a real-life actor. The only similarity between them is they happen to share a very similar face.

The only way I could see this maybe making sense is if the character is thinly veiled RPS and like based on the actor and their real life or something.

Otherwise it makes no sense lol. Fiction is fiction.

I'm not trying to be mean here OP, but if this secret is sincere and not just someone putting words down to make a secret, you seem very... fragile. There's a line between fantasy and reality, and what happens in fiction and in your head is not happening IRL.

You're not a monster to torture this character. The version of this fictional character inhabiting your writing or the stories you tell yourself in your head is not a voodoo doll, and torturing that character can't hurt the actor more.

If it's possible that you, yourself, are dealing with some traumatic things that happened to you, look into getting a therapist if you don't already have one. (If you do have one, this might be a good topic to open up to them.)

If you think it might make you feel better, you can always write a story where the same terrible thing that happened to the actor also happened to the character, and then you can write the character's journey back to emotional stability from that low point.

I assume his character gets injured or has bad things happen to him in the show(s) he's on. I understand feeling sympathy for him as a person, but you're ok to write whatever about the character he portrays.

It's understandable that it might make you feel uncomfortable, especially if you're visualizing them, but you're certainly not a monster. Fiction is fiction. What you do to a character has no impact on the real actor. You're not harming them in any way.

but yeah I agree Cult of Chucky is the worst movie (it gets addressed in the show). Some killings were fun, though! But is that not the consensus of the horror fandom? I thought Chucky fans were all about the campy shit like myself. IDK I'm a horror buff but I'm not in the fandom.

Is the censoring thing a purity culture thing? I would maybe think algorithm thing but I keep seeing in places like DW that have no algorithm. Maybe it's just bleedover from people not wanting to think so they just censor themselves everywhere?

Do you celebrate yours? Is it a Big Deal for you or just a quiet personal thing or something in between?

I'm meh on them. Even as a kid it was never a big deal to me. I have a late November birthday and I always feel like there is too much else going on and even I forget about my birthday some years. I wish I had a birthday during the slower part of the year - maybe Feb or March - then maybe I'd be more excited about it. But then again, maybe I was just destined to be a meh birthday person!
