This actually happened at the cafe next door to my work! They were terrible and rarely had customers, but I just thought that was because the owner was nasty and the place was obviously dirty. Nope, turns out it was a money laundering front for a biker gang and one day everyone got arrested.

Yup, tons of ghost/fake food shops are actually money laundering fronts for criminal orgs. It'd be the most canon-esque coffee shop AU to toss GoT into, just have each group be a different gang fighting for control over the city and the coffee shop wars are just a front, though a serious one.

I imagine those aren't what people were writing though
