I get it. I like musicals too. I also like film noir, and whenever there's a "noir" episode of something, it's a really shallow version of what film noir is. There are fedoras, they make it black and white, and its version of "hardboiled" dialogue is usually something really cliche and cringeworthy. It's sort of just wearing a costume of what it is, rather than being the actual thing, and I think it's the same with musical episodes. And that can be okay, it's good to have a bit of fun with things, but I don't enjoy it the same way.

I rather liked the noir eps of CSI and CSI New York.
