I live in America and being a disabled lower class queer in a red state means a Trump presidency is gonna mean a lot of bad things for me. But so many of my fandoms and online communities went crazy because of him in 2016, so in the back of my mind I'm just thinking, "if he gets re-elected I won't even have my escapism because it'll be crazy 2.0". Geez. I already lost friends due to Trump 7 years ago.

Fandom is where new art is thriving undiluted.
Fandom is where many minorities of many, many varieties meet and build kinship.

Losing fandom or having its reach lessen is a big threat to creative expression and another form of third places/community.

Your concern is not frivolous or nonsensical OP.

Wishing for the best for America but still worried myself....
