What kind of fic did you last read?

If you want to include the actual fic you can, but I'm curious about what kind of story it was?
For example; was it set in an alternate universe? Hurt no comfort? Starring a Rare pairing? Gen or explicit?

It had the most popular pairing, was kind of an alternate take on a canon event, and nothing more explicit than a kiss happened.

It was kind of boring (not because it wasn't explicit, I'm okay with that) because I've already read a handful of other similar fics where people put their own spin on a specific canon event, and they're all basically the same. Honestly, pretty much all the fics in this fandom are pretty boring. There are people on Tumblr sharing ideas for fics that sound interesting, but then they don't write them.

So, my most recent fic read was actually a reread of one of my favorite fics. Starring Celebrimbor and Sauron. Somewhat shippy, but not really. Mostly exploring the friendship as it develops and how it ends. But I love this author's take on the ending of their story and how she writes the characters. No sex, but the torture later on is decently explicit. Author rated it teen, I would say it is more R.
