I'm near 40 and my parents are 71 and 80 respectively. I get this sentiment so much, especially when when I started looking for work, canvassing was still a thing that happened. Now it's online and I have to tell my mother (71) that there's no jobs that reflect my specific skill set (admin) and she doesn't fucking get it.
