Re: Vent - anti-technology parents

Oh god, my parents are the same re: job applications. What's silly is that my dad is no stranger to the internet, but refuses to admit that the last time he had to apply to a job was 30+ years ago. My mom is worse - she's been a SAHM for yoinks and has never so much as touched a job application, but she's adamant that I should show up during business hours and ask to speak to the manager so I can fill out an application, interview on the spot and show them what a plucky go-getter I am! And to top it off, I should also offer to work for FREE on probation for two weeks and then if they think I did a good job, they'd hire me. Just like that, so easy! She doesn't understand why I don't go and snap up all the high paying jobs that are lying around waiting for people who want to work.
