nayrt but I'm starting to feel the same way a lot of my friends from the UK felt about brexit: yes, it is going to fuck over many of the people who were most in favor of it the hardest, and yes that was obviously going to be the outcome, but they voted for it anyway because of right-wing identity politics and xenophobia, so... fuck 'em? Suffer? You deserve everything that comes to you as a result?

I wouldn't care at all if the primary victims would be people who voted for him. But the primary victims are going to be the most vulnerable people, ones who probably didn't vote for him and may not even have had the ability to vote.

Exactly. You (general) voted for the leopards to eat faces. I'm going to laugh when the leopards eat your fucking face. You voted for the guy who wants to kill fema and the nws. I'm gonna get popcorn when your town is destroyed by a sudden Cat 5 the entire world except the US saw and you get no help at all from your government. You voted for the guy who wants to throw tariffs around like Oprah. I'm gonna tell you to pull yourself up by your boostraps when you can't afford a bicycle. I'm done being nice and being told I need to be nice to conservatives and "centrists". All these idiots can get fucked.

ugh yeah, thanks for reminding me about NOAA and NWS. Looks like we'll be relying on European models... and sticking our heads out of the window for local events :/ Assuming there are any weather channels or sites left. I can only hope Trump is so incompetent in this area that he mistakes the weather organizations for something else and we retain our forecasts.

I live in a hurricane zone and voted for Kamala, so I'd appreciate it if people aren't like, "fuck 'em! I hope they die!"

NOAA being broken down would definitely hurt, but there are plenty of forecasters that have access to good models, and we'd probably be alright in warning phases.

nayrt but I get it. Too many folks don't understand their actions (or even inaction) have consequences.

And like Brexit, the people who thought they didn't have to go and vote will be the first and loudest to whine and cry when shit explodes in their faces.
