Your favourite soundtracks

Inspired by secret 5 - what are your favourite soundtracks? Any that you think are especially underrated/overlooked?

I got into the Assassin's Creed games because of the AC2 soundtrack. It's just gorgeous and really almost all AC soundtracks are beautiful.

Suikoden Tactics soundtrack is criminally underrated. True, it gets some of its tunes from Suikoden 4 (which I call the first half of the story), but with a makeover. I'll put it on while cleaning the house, lol.

I think one of the most underrated soundtracks (as well as an underrated movie) is the one for The Postman.

I like Life of Pi, It Follows and Pan's Labyrinth a lot but I don't remember the music from those movies at all.

Oh man, that are all so good. Especially It Follows with it's synth-y style. It's one of the ones I listen to the get in a spooky mood.

One of the best gaming soundtracks is Journey. It's seriously amazing, especially the way it's dynamic based on your gameplay.

I hadn't kept up with the series since Genesis but hearing other folks do music covers from various Sonice games, I was pleasantly surprised by the sheer number of bangers.

The Reefer Madness soundtrack is fun.
Pretty much any Tarantino soundtrack (although where the hell was ANY Beatles song in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood??!)
the Big Lebowski
Chicago
The Blues miniseries that was on PBS in the '00s and produced by Martin Scorcese had an AMAZING soundtrack if we're counting TV documentaries
Forrest Gump
any Beatles movie but especially Yellow Submarine
Phantom of the Paradise
Beavis and Butthead Do America (Do the Universe was funny but didn't have as good a soundtrack)
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Velvet Goldmine

Pacific Rim, Back to the Future... anything by Bernard Hermann.

There was some older movie I saw recently that had a FANTASTIC score but I don't remember what it was, it was something that had been largely forgotten, and it just turned up on one of those streaming services, and I popped it on for background noise while crafting and I wish I could remember what it was.

Hercules has the best Disney soundtrack, hands down. Every song is catchy and highly singable.

Rogue Trader and Wrath of the Righteous. I legitimately have playlists. They're my favorites.

About A Boy

I am ignoring all musicals because that seems like a whole seperate category. But "About A Boy" has a wonderful soundtrack. I loved that they ised the same artist for all of it, it is what introduced me to Badly Drawn Boy in the first place.

Team Fortress 2 has great music.

As for movie soundtracks...
I'm pretty fond of Bernard Herrmann's work. Danny Elfman's too.
Franz Waxman did great stuff for The Adventures of Robin Hood and Bride of Frankenstein.
Even though I sometimes find John Williams' nigh-omnipresence annoying it can't be denied that when he's on, he's ON.
Wendy Carlos didn't do too many soundtracks but what she did was choice.

Trainspotting (finally got the vinyl yesterday) and the sequel as well. There was a second Trainspotting soundtrack released after the first one in the 90s with a neon green cover, had songs mentioned in the book, that weren't on the first soundtrack.
Velvet Goldmine
Shallow Grave
A Life Less Ordinary
The Crow
Hedwig and The Angry Inch
True Stories ( Talking Heads)
Times Square.
Control
24 Hour Party People
