He's better than the older Holmes too.

Like this is seen as blaspheme in the community, but Brett clears Rathbone imo.

It really shouldn't be-- it's TRUE. And not just Brett himself, but the overall adaptation quality.

I sometimes wonder how Rathbone would have been in closer adaptations. The man looked like the Sidney Paget illos brought to life, and he was certainly a fine actor.

I agree, and honestly, while Rathbone's look might resonate more with a mainstream audience, I have yet to meet a single diehard Sherlock Holmes fan who doesn't prefer the Brett version.

I do prefer Rathbone series even tho it's less faithfull and not historically accurate at all.
I am a books fun first and Brett just doesn't resonate with me as 'Holmes'.
