this is confusing to me because not always a hit equals someone has read the fic. I download a fuck ton of fics and put them on my e-reader and maybe i read it maybe i don't and never will. and if i read it i could be in a few days or a few months.
i really hope writers don't seriously think that hit = read because that's just false.

True...sometimes I start a fic, get a few paragraphs in, decide it's not working for me (writing style, some other reason), and backbutton out of there.
