That's because the great mouse detective was the best adaptation of Sherlock EVER. Everything else just doesn't compare.

Andrew Scott, who isn’t a bad actor, is somehow an insufferable Sherlock, while Ratigan is giving OTT in an actually fun way, so its no competition for me.

BBC Sherlock's Moriarty was the worst Moriarty I've ever seen. I don't blame Scott for not being able to rescue that part, though his weird falsetto delivery didn't help. It was a terribly written role in a series that had crap writing. Irene Adler also got a major hack job done to the character.

As much as I enjoyed this movie, I don't think it's the best adaptation simply because Basil is more of a jerk than Holmes really is. But other than that, it's a damn fun movie.

Well, yes. Only one of those was actually any good. The other one was Sherlock.
