From my perspective, it looks much more like anyone who likes The Last Jedi can't say anything even slightly positive about it in fandom spaces without a bunch of obnoxious haters bursting in like the Kool-Aid Man to shit all over it and anyone who might like it.

It's a matter of difference of opinions, overall.

To get a little more specific, from my experiences, there can never be any nuance in discussion with the SW films, especially the set of trilogy that was most recently released.
I often feel like most people want to talk in absolute binaries (good vs bad, pointless vs the most important thing ever), and it's really crappy when I feel like everyone just wants to dunk on each other's preferences.

Like, I get it, you didn't like The Last Jedi, but I think you're refusing to acknowledge that your opinion isn't the truth to someone else.
Just because one person didn't like TLJ and hated Luke's character in it doesn't mean that someone else's enjoyment of Luke's character is wrong.
It's simply a difference of opinions.
And to add further, knowing this, I want to be done talking about TLJ, but I feel like some fans just want to keep discussing how much they didn't like TLJ to continue fanning the flames.

It's similar to fans directing years of hate towards both versions of Anakin Skywalker ("annoying dumb kid", "Anakin's such a whiny bitch") and Jar Jar Binks because the prequel films didn't live up to their expectations, etc.

Like, maybe there is some self reflection we can do here. But I'm not counting on it it. I'm tired of talking about SW in this way. If you didn't like a film, you didn't like it. Why do you need to keep persisting that those who don't consider what you don't like as "good" are wrong?
It's such a bad faith attempt to get people talking too. And I keep falling for it, I know.

I have a suspicion it really depends on which characters you like. As a Finn fan invested in Finn and Rey relationship, TLJ was pretty bad. But at least I know why I dislike it. It's weird when ppl just say it's bad, SW movies are average overall, and TLJ wasn't much worse than any other SW movie imo.

I didn't love TLJ but it will always be better for me than TRoS for the simple fact that Rian Johnson had a story he wanted to tell and accomplished that goal, whereas JJ Abrams' only goal in TRoS was to cravenly beg for forgiveness from the worst fanboys by retconning the previous movie even if it made his movie weaker for it.
