From my perspective, it looks much more like anyone who likes The Last Jedi can't say anything even slightly positive about it in fandom spaces without a bunch of obnoxious haters bursting in like the Kool-Aid Man to shit all over it and anyone who might like it.

This is what I’ve witnessed, too. I’ve never seen it the other way around.

TLJ is my favorite SW movie, and I absolutely do not talk about that with others SW fans because they get very intense about it.

I'd actually describe Johnson's script as Shakespeare-esque. It's perfect to me in its self-contained symmetry. We have that opposition of 2 static main characters and 2 dynamic supporting characters, and then we have these reluctant side duos/foils for each of these 4 characters, and the supporting characters flip-flop in such a satisfying way, while the lead characters are on this ambiguous arc throughout the movie that makes it all the more tragic and poignant when they dig their heels in at the end. *headexplody* Perfection.

Same here.
I always liked Star Wars since my mother showed me the old VHS tapes. Watched the movies, starting with the prequels im the cinema. Always had a good time.
TLJ made me INVESTED. Afterwards I even got into the books. I was sooooo excited for more.
TROS kinda destroyed that investment, but now I never talk to anyone about the investment in the first place. TLJ is my favorite SW movie, but you say that and you're a Reylo fangirl who has never seen a SW movie before and doesn't care about the rest.
