Eh I don't wish death or harm on anyone, but if someone suffers the consequences of the thing they explicitly chose (e.g., by voting for a politician who openly stated he or she was going to do the thing) I cannot feel any sympathy for them.

That said, there is a great deal of false equivalence when someone who supports and selects something that would see one of their family members directly harmed (medically maimed, deported, loss of civil rights, etc.) claims that because that family member chooses to no longer attend their family dinners or answer their texts, they have somehow been equivalently harmed (or worse).

They, objectively, have not, and freedom of association is more than enough justification to civilly discontinue the company of someone who actively wishes you harm.
