All of those ARE good adaptations though. No they aren’t scene by scene to the written works but they keep the main and pivotal characters, the spirit, and all of the important and most of the unimportant scenes. That’s actually why I didn’t include The Shining because while it’s a fantastic movie, it’s a terrible adaptation of the novel.
