Nah, more like the question is too broad.

Could I go for 48 hours without a television? Sure, I can stream the same shows on my computer. Could I go for 48 hours without wearing a sweater? Sure, I'll wear a jacket instead of it's cold.

The possibility existing for multiple objects to perform the same exact functions makes each object itself less unique and less important.
