Biden's new policy on Ukraine is dumb and dangerous.

I get why he is doing it, he wants more of a legacy than "lost to Trump twice, once when he wasn't even running", but he already had a perfect strategy on Russia. We were bleeding Russia dry, in a way they would take generations to recover from. A quick defeat means a quicker rearming process and we have to do this all again in twenty years. Giving Ukraine just enough aid to bog down Russia, but not quite so much it causes Russia to fold or escalate, meant they were going to keep spending money and Russian lives they just could never replace. And we could have done this for a couple of decades with negligible loss to the West. It was a slamdunk.

Now Biden is gambling on Russia folding, and not Putin deciding if he loses then we all have to lose and escalating to nukes. And that is just stupid.

We need to go back to the slowly bleeding them dry approach.

how did biden "lose to trump twice"? - the man ran one campaign against trump, which he won. the only two people to have lost an election to trump are clinton and harris.

"And we could have done this for a couple of decades with negligible loss to the West."

... so what are all of the Ukrainians who die in the process, chopped liver?

(Anonymous) 2024-11-21 12:23 pm (UTC)(link)
And Russians too. Both countries have forced conscription.

(Anonymous) 2024-11-21 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
The Ukrainians who don't want to fight have already left the conflict area. The Russians dying is kinda the point. Create a demographic deficit that cannot be overcome, so yeah, fine with that. If the Russians are upset with the forced conscription, well the last time that happened was 1917 under the Tsar. Maybe they should consider repeating a bit of history, or they could be fine with it.

there's a video where the conscription brigade killed a man when trying to put him in a van. If you're interested you can search some videos on telegram and see some chats where Ukrainians warn each other over these brigades movement. All your statements are false, which is not even funny. Too much stupid on the internet ffs.

"I get why he is doing it, he wants more of a legacy than "lost to Trump twice, once when he wasn't even running","

I don't think that's why Biden's doing it. Even if he wanted more of a legacy, there'd be easier ways to achieve that than stepping up the U.S.' involvement with Ukraine and Russia, so that seems like a silly theory. I read this article on it and it was interesting:

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2024/11/trump-biden-russia-putin-ukraine-zelensky-missiles.html

If true, then he's trying to do exactly what you mentioned - maintain a difficult holding pattern and keeping Russia in check.

How I hate USA government and people that support it. Like now many are happy that Haitians are being deported but just 80 years ago USA ruled over Haiti and bled them dry. USA is the cancer of the World.

(Anonymous) 2024-11-21 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I just wish more Americans would get a clue about how their own government actually works (Of course, this isn't just an issue with America). I understand why education standards have been dropping but it still sucks.

For the record, a lot of us oppose what's happening to Haitians and other immigrants (assuming Trump gets his way). Unfortunately, yet another percentage of us would rather bury our heads in the sand and pretend what's happening outside our own circles doesn't exist.

(Anonymous) 2024-11-21 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I think education standards dropping is on purpose. How will Americans know how bad our government is if we aren't taught it? Granted, there's books and Wikipedia, but I'm talking about kids and teenagers just growing up being fed propaganda they don't question as adults.

(Anonymous) 2024-11-21 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah yeah, fuck all the Americans who're stuck here and will die if the government collapses altogether. We're acceptable sacrifices instead of trying to make it fucking better. Nope, just gut it and kill all them disabled people in the process. Not like they contribute anything!

If you can't tell, I'm disabled and all I can do is make what's here better. I can't run--nowhere takes disabled people. Because we don't contribute. But y'all who live outside love to pretend we don't exist so you can spout on about killing America and how it'll be better for everyone.

I'm so fucking tired of being everyone's acceptable sacrifice.

(Anonymous) 2024-11-21 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
If you support USA government than fuck you like USA fucks the rest of the World. :3

(Anonymous) 2024-11-21 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Where did that post say "I support the USA government"?

(Anonymous) 2024-11-22 09:20 am (UTC)(link)
Because this person is, as they say, an acceptable sacrifice for the Glorious Revolution.

(Anonymous) 2024-11-22 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
How did you read, "Some people have to live with what's here or die because they won't have the aid they need" as them supporting the current form of it when they say they want it to be better??? Burning the house down kills people. Grab a hammer and nails and get working, bitch.

(Anonymous) 2024-11-21 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)

The slowly bleeding them dry approach hasn't been working. Ukraine needs means to resist and fight back. It's as simple as that. If you prefer letting Ukranians die in the meantime (and brainwashed Russian soldiers too) that's your choice. Also Putin is gonna do what Putin is gonna do because he isn't a sensible man and doesn't care for any human lives but his own.

(Anonymous) 2024-11-21 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
The slow bleeding them dry has been working, the key word being that it is slow. You can't go slow in a hurry, ya gotta let time take its toll. This is a multi-decade process. We're not even a full decade into this project.

(Anonymous) 2024-11-22 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)

Still no. Several countries/companies, including American ones, have violated or bypassed these sanctions to provide Russia with materials, weapons, funds, whatever, and vice versa. Russia has increased its effort to corrupt, hack, and sabotage so the situation is different now. The ones who are suffering the most from these sanctions are the people who are starving, not Putin. If your point is to let other people die to hypothetically save your country 50 years for now, that's not "working".
