Except that's the crux of the matter here, isn't it? People who defend Hamas and Palestine always love to bring the "you need to go back to when Israel wasn't and established country so they STOLE it and Hamas is in the right". But how much further back do you want to go? Because if you go back enough then yes, the area very much was the land of the Jewish people, simply on account of Islam being a much younger religion.
I'm not at all defending the current fascist right wing Israeli government and what they're doing is bullshit but the "the area isn't Jewish because Israel in its current form was only established less than a century ago" is not actually factually correct depending on how far back in history you go.

Modern Jewish people have literally no connection to the political entities and nation states of the pre-Roman era. If you dropped Bibi in Ancient Judea then he'd probably be stoned as a witch. Lets discard this nonsense argument as the nonsense it is. There is no continuity between the two.

Israel is a modern nation state, with a distinct and modern culture. It is its own new thing. Judea is an ancient, pre-Roman nation state in broadly the same area which inherited the land from other even earlier nation states and tribal entities, often through right of conquest, and had its own now extinct character and culture. It has as much relevance to the modern state as Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table have to modern England. A romanticised, fictionalised, lionised, propaganda piece.

Doesn't matter when Jews have completely been systemetically driven out of an area they originally inhabited by the culture who now claims they've "been there before" when that's just a matter of perspective and/or time. It's not exactly a mystery why there are barely any Jewish people in majority Muslim countries.

[AYRT] I completely agree. But both sides don't want to do that for different reasons. Which is why this issue gets exhausting. I despise the IDF and want a ceasefire because innocent Gazans shouldn't be lumped in with their government (same applies to Israelis), but Hamas wants an ethnic cleansing. They just want to kill each other for different reasons, I don't even care "who came first" anymore. Jews and arabs are both indigenous to the middle east. Both a two state solution or a bi-national one state solution are great ideas, but Palestine has rejected the former and Israel doesn't want the latter.
