What exactly counts as a slow burn in fanfic? I'm currently writing one that's gonna be around forty chapters and the characters don't get together until chapter thirty, but there's a lot of flirting and teasing before then. I just don't want to tag it wrong.

Yeah, definitely slow burn. Basically, I'd say if the couple doesn't actually get together for at least two thirds of the length of the story, it's a slow burn.

That is absolutely slow burn. If they dont get together by the halfway point I would wager it is slow burn.
