Damn, what a day. I hope things in Syria get better instead of worse now, and at least Assad is gone.

And in US news, thanks to whoever left a backpack full of monopoly money in Central Park, I needed that laugh. I hope it's gonna be nonstop "I'm Spartacus" backpacks full of silly stuff all over NY for awhile.

Oh, it will not. Not one of these supposed "free" revolutions in the arab world have done anything to bring actual freedom or equality. It turns out that the old Strong Men, as horrible as they were, were the lesser of two evils. Also there will be another couple of waves of refugees sent westwards to further destabilize the EU and UK zones, which will weaken their governments and their foreign policy commitments against Russia and mean that Ukraine is in further danger. Lets not forget, Syria was a pretty modernized Arab nation. They used to have a comfortable westernized middle class and was at approximately the same level of development as the west was circa mid-1990s. That is gone. That is never going to come back.
