This reads as if the Valeyard is a future incarnation of the Doctor instead of an "amalgamation of the darker sides of your nature" lifted somehow out of the middle of a future regeneration process. By whom? The Time Lord High Council who set up the Trial? The Master (or how else does he know all about it)? Both? A third party? Some freak accident? It wasn't said - but what was said is he's an outside, tangential phenomenon and a separate being, like the metacrisis Doctor, instead of a proper incarnation of the Doctor. If you want to argue that the Master is an unreliable source then you must account for that the Valeyard found himself unable to deny what the Master said; until or unless there's more information Occam's razor is set against you.

Yes, the Doctor has darker impulses, but the Valeyard will happen when they're separated out, not from when he Finally Gives In to them.

This kind of reminds me of Dan/Dark Danny from Danny Phantom, especially all the fanworks where Danny is angsting over how Dan is a future version of him. No! Dan is a combination of his ghost side after a terribly traumatic event combined with Vlad! It's not Danny on his own who just went bad!

Canonically the Valeyard is the incarnation who followed 12, so we've already had the failed and corrupted version. We're past her now.

Canonically the Valeyard was lifted from "somewhere between" the Doctor's "twelfth and final [emphasis mine] incarnation". As of the Fall of the Eleventh on Trenzalore, that describes a window from then until the Doctor eventually assumes his last body ever, whenever that is (assuming, after the Timeless Child revelation, there ever is a last body ever).
