Re: Do you like sci-fi/fantasy?

Sci-fi slightly edges it for me but I love both. Sci-fi is possibly my favourite genre. I can't really explain why. I think some of it is tied up in the fact this is how I bonded with my dad. I watched a lot of classic sci-fi films with him when I was growing up, I watched repeats of Doctor Who with him. One of the first "grown up" authors I read was HG wells (my dad has a huge gorgeously bound treasury of his work.)

But I think I also love that you're not tied strictly speaking to reality. Even if something isn't possible according to our science now, you can say it will be if you're looking at the future.
