Re: Do you like sci-fi/fantasy?

I love horror sci-fi, especially with movies. Almost all my favourite movies are varying degrees of horror sci-fi.
With books I'm more into "hard" sci-fi than anything else. I like reading explanation on weird fictional science, but I don't particularly enjoy the exposition/explanation if it's in movies/TV shows. With movies I prefer going almost brain dead and marvel at the special effects and/or goofy monsters.

I'm pretty impartial to fantasy. Love playing stuff in that setting (either video or board games), but I don't like books set in fantasy world and fantasy movies are almost always MEH to me, with some exceptions. I guess I don't particularly appreciate the aesthetics of the more traditional fantasy settings (elves, orcs and IDK the general medieval vibes) and the magic? I mean, if I'm the one manipulating the magic: AWESOME, bring it on! But if I'm watching another character doing so: YAWN, wake me up when they're done.
