My Mom died over 10 years ago.
In 2016, I was uncomfortably thankful for her absence, afraid of what sort of poison
would come out of her mouth in that awful political landscape.
My Dad died a few years ago.
In 2023, I was uncomfortably thankful for his absence, afraid of what sort of poison
would come out of his mouth in the wake of October 7th.
(We're Jewish.)
When this movie was announced, I was glad they're both not here because when I
was very little, Frosty the Snowman was my imaginary friend and we were married
and in love. I don't remember anything else about it, so I can't
even explain the hows or whys.
I'm in my 40s. The teasing would be constant, and I just couldn't take it.
Bonus: I am praying none of my siblings remember or bring it up.
Bonusx2: If my SIL shows so much as the poster to my brother, I'm cooked.

Sorry about your loss and not getting along with your fam.

But is the plot of this movie seriously Frosty the Snowman turns into a hot dude? I always thought of Frosty as an old fun grandfatherly character. Though honestly I didn't know I had opinions about it until confronted with the possibility of a hot young Frosty.

Not only that, he also genuinely has the mentality of a toddler for most of the movie but it's totally not creepy you guys!

I mean, you see that a lot in Pygmalion-style movies where a woman is the Galatea character. A Mom for Christmas and Mannequin come to mind.

I read it as he was Jewish and would have been bigoted against Palestinians. Palestinian =/= Hamas, but too many folks don't care about the difference.
